Hi Devin,
Not feeling so good lately. I'm so tired. It's like I get a sudden burst of energy and then I fizzle out just as suddenly. Well I guess I just gotta roll with it huh?. I hope you start feeling better very soon.

Shelly, That is common sweetie! Alot of it is from your medications guaranteed~When you first take them they give you a bang feeling, great at first and that does dissapear slowly but surely. You are also pretty fresh out of surgery,Shelly. Give yourself time and rest. You are not supposed to be running a marathon or anything right now! I love ya, girly.....Hang in there!
:) REST and follow Your body's LEAD!

Hi Devin,

I am thankful that there are people out there like you that are trying to promote awareness. :0) I really think your page is a good one in that it lets people talk about how they are feeling and how they are doing. I read through all the comments and found that I have basically all the same symptoms (some different also) and found some that I had the same as others that I didn't know were related to chiari. I had my decompression in August, 2006, and a second "repair" surgery in October of the same year. I was also diagnosed with Syringomyelia and fibro <-- yea right. It's been a long road and I have gone through alot of the same emotions you have. Tho...I think my pity party for myself was longer tee hee Anyhoo, I'm still coping with all the symptoms with some getting worse. An awful neurosurgeon who hasn't responded to my calls for almost a year <-- I kno right...find another one. I am going to counseling and have to see a psych for anxiety/depression meds. I also go to pain management (cept I'm allergic to everything but Vics). Sooo..at this point I am trying to take care of myself and keep myself busy during the times I am awake. Thanks for being a friend, and ty for being there for all us chiarians! Red

Hi Devin,
I am 18 years old, a college athlete, and I just found out I have Chiari malformation one about a week ago. I am having surgery in about three weeks (November 10th) and I am freaking out. I have so many questions that the doctor cant answer. Like, how is the recovery? How fast does your hair grow back? ( I am a girl with long hair that I LOVE) Does your scar grow hair? Does your scar last forever? How much weight am I going to loose? ( I play soccer in college so my weight is important.) What am I going to need when I get home from the surgery? I need to know any all imformation. None about what Chiari is or whats going to happen with the surgery I know all about that. But things like pain, and when I can start playing again. Thank you for your time.
