Hi Devin and all, So sorry it took this long to write.
Post surgery is going well. My incision site is getting less painful everyday. I'm off of all drugs except for Tylenol when I need it. My left neck/shoulder is in the same pain as it was before the surgery if not worse, which is kinda disapointing but it all takes time. I went and saw my NS on Tuesday and she said all looked good. I'm just trying to get back to normal now but am having a tough time realizing I still need to slow down and recover.... I did way to much yesterday (the 4th) I was carrying chairs and a cooler to a parade and really over did it. The thing I'm frustrated with is why can't I just do things and enjoy myself without pain like it seems the rest of the world does? I'm sure we all think this, so it's nothing new to you guys. Which in a way makes me feel like I'm not so alone in this Chiari thing. I hope and pray for you guys everday that we will all be pain free or at least enjoying our lives and embracing our talents that God has given us.
Dear Devin, My name is Kelsey and i am only 17. I have been living with chiari since i was 11. Now i am finally having the surgery and SOON. this comeing friday feb. 8th! and i will admit i am SOOOOOOOOO scared please give me some words of wisdom. and my mom was also wondering how she can buy more then 1 chiari awarness braclet?
13Devin, I have been looking at your site for the past couple of days, and I think it's aswome!Iam 13 years old and I found out that I have Chiari just a few months ago' and your site has helped me understand it better. I'm going to have my surgery the 2nd week in June. I'll also do my best to help spread Chiari awearness.
Oh Devin, I will add you to my prayer list. So glad I found your site. My son had decompression surgery when he was two and a half and then had to have it again when he was three. I have been feeling compelled to write about our experience with him and how we found it. Just for the heck of it tonight, I typed in Chiari and came across your site. I have been thinking that I would post about him on my blog soon and tell our story. You have given me the courage to do it. You said that those that have more than one surgery and are doing good don't write about it... I am going to do it now. Thank you for your story and your courage. You are a strong person, and you are helping others through your story. hi-d
